Stone City - RAGBRAI Tune Up Ride #2

Stone City Loop With a Return Past Waldo’s Rock 

Ride Leader- Bill Utterback 

Gather at Lowe Park at 7:45 AM and depart at 8:00 AM

There will be stops in Alburnett (Budz) and Central City (Leftys). The ride will leave east out of Central City and regroup at Prairieburg Road/Buffalo Ridge Road and then ride to Stone City for a rest stop.  Riders should be aware the General Store in Stone City has closed so no services will be available.  

We’ll leave Stone City and ride on County Home Road until the intersection with Springville Road where we’ll turn south for a stop at the Casey's in Springville.  From Springville, we’ll continue south on Springville Road until Secrist Road and then head back to Marion on the trail past Waldo’s Rock.  We’ll pedal through Marion and finish back to Lowe Park.

This ride is approximately 55 Miles. This is a ride designed for hill lovers and haters alike as we enjoy some views that inspired Grant Wood.  Expect RAGBRAI-like hills from Alburnett to Secrist Road.  Expected speed is 14-16 mph.
