Greene Square/Sutliff Loop — LUNCH RIDE

Riders should be at the start by 9:45 a.m. for sign-in. Wheels roll at 10. We’ll take the trail south to Ely for a stop at the Casey’s there. Continuing on the trail, we’ll go to 140th Street/County Road F14 and go east, cross Highway 1, and continue on to Sutliff for lunch at the Sutliff Bar. After lunch, we’ll get back on Sutliff Road and head north to Lisbon and Mount Vernon. Then we’ll take Mount Vernon Road west back to Cedar Rapids. To return to Greene Square, we’ll turn off of Mount Vernon Road on to Bertram Road, which connects to Otis Road. We’ll take Otis Road back into downtown. We’ll determine other strategically-placed re-group spots on ride day. Mileage 45-50. This is a no-drop ride with the ride leader or a designated sweeper riding with the slowest rider. Plan on an average pace in the 12-14 MPH range, slightly faster on straights.
